Wi-Fi printer can't print First check the communication environment Wi-Fi Troubleshooting Guide (4)

Wi-Fi connected printer does not print (Fig. 1). There are various reasons for such troubles, but there are cases where there is a problem on the network. The usual way to check the operation of a network device connected to Wi-Fi is to execute the "ping (ping or ping)" command at the command prompt.

Figure 1 If you run into a problem where a Wi-Fi connected printer cannot print, first check the signal strength. Review the placement of your Wi-Fi router and printer. If there is no problem with the signal, use the command to check if the printer is properly connected to the network

Wi-Fi printer cannot print communication Check the environment first Wi-Fi Troubleshooting Guide (4)

First, find out the IP address of your network device. There are several ways to find out, but the easiest is to use the smartphone app "Fing" (Fig. 2).

Fig. 2 A smartphone app is useful for checking the printer's IP address. You can use the router manufacturer's app, but you can also find the IP address of the Wi-Fi device with "Fing". You can also check from the printer itself. If the IP address cannot be confirmed, it is not connected to the network normally, so the corrective action is basically the same as in Fig. 6

Once the IP address is found, use the ping command to check the response of the device (Fig. 3). If "timeout" or "cannot be reached" is displayed, communication has not been performed correctly (Fig. 4). Try reconnecting the printer to the Wi-Fi router or restarting the printer itself.

Figure 3 Press the "Windows" key and the "R" key, and when this screen appears, enter "cmd" in half-width characters (1) (2) and press "OK" at the bottom right Figure 4 After "ping" Enter the IP address of the printer using half-width spaces, and press the "Enter" key (1) (2). If communication is not possible, it will be displayed as shown in the figure (3), so check the connection with the Wi-Fi router, restart the printer, etc.
