Three character input techniques to remember when using iPad | iPad Hacks

If you have an iPad with full peripherals, you can do many things and it's convenient, but just getting a pen and keyboard costs tens of thousands of yen. Depending on the intended usage, many people may have given up saying, "Let's put up with the physical keyboard." Also, even if you have a budget and a good keyboard, you may have to remove the keyboard case and rely on a software keyboard input when you mainly use a pen.

However, with large models other than the iPad mini, it seems a little difficult to touch while lifting the device. So, in this article, I'll introduce three techniques that make typing text a little easier, with or without a physical keyboard. If you don't know anything about it, give it a try.

1) Switch to floating keyboard

When using the software keyboard on an iPad, the keyboard is displayed at the bottom of the screen. This is great for people who want to put their iPad on their desk and use both hands to type, but the truth is that it's hard to type while holding the iPad.

Therefore, by switching this software keyboard to the "floating" display and moving it to the edge of the screen, you will be able to input with a feeling similar to that of a smartphone. Especially if you are doing flick input on the iPhone, it will be easier to handle.

If you press and hold the button on the bottom right of the keyboard screen, the option "Floating" will appear. While holding down, move your finger over the "floating" and lift it off the screen. Then, the keyboard display will change to a familiar shape on iPhone etc.

▲ Operation to return the keyboard to its original state

The floating software keyboard can be placed anywhere on the screen by dragging the bar at the bottom. I think it will be easier to handle by moving it to the edge of the screen on the dominant side.

You can also return to the original landscape keyboard by dragging and dropping it onto the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. It is easy to forget how to undo this, so it is recommended that you consciously memorize it by repeating the operation over and over again.
